Happy November, everyone!

People have been expressing interest in merchandise and prints for the holidays, so as per semi-popular demand, I’ve made available a calendar for the upcoming new year:

Also, until this website is overhauled and ordering prints are easier, a selection of images are available for ordering at my Big Cartel shop:

Thanks for the support, friends! Some day your prints will come!

This could stand a bit more post-pro clean-up, but I’m just relieved and happy to have this completed after encountering permission issues with the property owner last year.

Short film festivals, here I come!

If you’re going to be in SoCal for the holidays, you should come to this show!

http://www.artofurbanexploration.com/

This event features 20 Photographers and Artists from around the world (myself included!) displaying work from some of the most interesting structures in existence today: Abandoned Buildings and Off Limits Areas.

Live bands currently include Mankind is Obsolete, Alice, Trash Axis, and Insects vs. Robots.

The event will be held at RecCenter Studio and admission is $15 at the door.

This Sunday, I exhibited some of my photography work at an alumni art and music show at the Cadillac High School. BreeAnn Veenstra and I planned on sharing the space but she was unable to make it.

The real highlight of the show was the performances by the Cadillac Symphony Orchestra, the beauty often sending shivers up my spine. Here are some improvised photos I captured of the event for those interested:

This has been the last major project I’ve been working on before my moving elsewhere. This will be where I’ll stay when I come back to visit.

Father/son building projects and high school wood shop classes were absent in my childhood, so it’s been a wonderful learning experience for me in the realm of woodworking. It hasn’t cost me anything and I’ve always wanted a treehouse!

Living high up, out on a limb and being rocked to sleep by the wind is the best. An escape from earthbound perspective, a return to arboreal roots. Someday I hope to reproduce this on a better scale on better location with better materials in a better tree.

Finally, I have a layout for a series of photos that I am happy with!

Check out Dead Ends and The Highlands photo sets and see how things are going to work. The horizontal scrolling helps the set read as a story, I think—a look and feel that I’ve had difficulty finding in the past. I hope you’ll agree. More to come later!

Hello everybody! Welcome to what is the making of my new website. It doesn’t look like much yet, but this blog will be the future hub for my fine art photography and design sections of my website. New additions to the galleries will be posted here. And whatever else I want to, because I can!

Have patience for the next few weeks while I figure out the layout and arrangement of the content. There will undoubtedly be some broken links here and there. Wish me luck!
